Creative Writing Classes

Hey everyone, my creative writing class teacher is looking for new students.

It's on Thursdays at St Francis Xavier 6th Form College near Clapham South Tube Station.

I did the whole course over a year and highly recommend it, I still make the effort travelling over to Clapham to attend the advanced class even though I have moved back to East London/Essex!!! It's excellent value for money too. Check it out: http://broadoak.sfx.ac.uk/

Adverts

Well I haven't updated my old blog http://www.myspace.com/rabisyed/blog in a while, and now that myspace's future is still uncertain I thought it best to revive my blog on another platform.  So here I am on blogspot able to once again write agonising tales about my existence.  Oh wait I'm meant to actually try to attract a following...  Better write about interesting things!

I am a real sucker for songs off adverts, and clever advertising bods have realised the value of placing a decent song in an advert.  And quite often they can be actually be good.  An artist I am quite into is Feist, and I discovered her because of an Apple Ipod advert from 2007.

DKNY

One song doing the rounds on my spotify is the song from the DKNY advert.  The advert hasn't made me want the perfume, strangely it makes me crave green apples!  And the song is really cool.  An artist called Madi Diaz the song is called 'Does it Rain Where You Are'.  It was one of the songs accompanying my Christmas Lunch preparations.

An advert that is annoyingly catchy with clips of the button cute singer.  Spotify link'Every Thing At Once' by Lenka.  No official video exists.

Gucci Guilty

Now for this campaign they choose a Depeche Mode track for it and had two different artists cover it.  It's amazing really how different the two versions are.  Bat For Lashes and Friendly Fires covering Depeche Mode's 'Strange Love'.  Both quite different takes, I am more of a Bat for Lashes fan but I have to admit to liking the Friendly Fires version more.
